Sentinel Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the appointment of Dorothy Voorhees as Chief Executive Officer. Voorhees, who has been serving as Interim CEO since April, brings a wealth of leadership experience and financial expertise to the role.
Having joined Sentinel FCU as Chief Financial Officer in 2018, Voorhees has been instrumental in guiding the credit union through strategic growth and operational excellence. Her background includes extensive experience in cash flow management, interest rate risk management, budgeting, compliance, and strategic planning. Before her tenure at Sentinel FCU, she served as CFO at a local community bank for eleven years and was an accounting manager at Black Hills Federal Credit Union for four years. Voorhees holds an AACSB Accreditation Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Applied Management from Black Hills State University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Management from the same institution.
Throughout her time at Sentinel FCU, Voorhees has consistently demonstrated a commitment to the credit union’s mission of safeguarding the financial well-being of its members. As Interim CEO, she led with strategic vision and operational acumen, maintaining Sentinel FCU’s focus on growth and member service. Her permanent appointment as CEO reflects the board’s confidence in her ability to lead the credit union forward.
